OUR SCORE - 9/10

Control is the new Far Cry 6 DLC that finally allows players to take on the role of the iconic villain Pagan Min. The Far Cry series has been beloved for a long time, and one major reason for that is definitely the way it introduces and builds up the villains. Whether it was Vaas in Far Cry 3 or Father Joseph in Far Cry 5, it's a sight to behold. And Far Cry 6 was no different when it came to this. Anton Castillo stole the show and set the stage for an epic revolutionary story that was definitely one of the best to come out in recent times.

For those unfamiliar with Pagan Min, let me give you a quick rundown of what to expect. Min was heir to a Chinese drug cartel before deciding he was destined for greater things, fleeing to the fictional nation of Kyrat (think Nepal) to let loose.

And by letting go, I mean mounting an attack on the struggling nation's power hierarchy, which eventually reclaims its throne through a combination of Machiavellian maneuvers and psychotic violence. Still, I should probably note that, despite Pagan Min's indefensible attitude, he comes across as a rather charming and somewhat likeable character.

With a sharp wit, an elegant wardrobe, tenacity and a surprisingly hospitable demeanor, Pagan Min is the kind of character that is pleasant to write; and as Far Cry 6's Control DLC proves, pure fun to play as. His continuous commentary as you progress through the game is the real highlight, at least for us.

During each playthrough of the DLC, you'll begin to accumulate Respect, which is the equivalent of an in-game currency that can be used to unlock permanent abilities and benefits for characters. If you die, you lose all progress and currency. That is, until you start investing in unlocks that prevent you from losing all of it. That way you can still have some left in the bank for the next run.

Just like the previous DLC, you'll need to collect three pieces of an artifact which will definitely require multiple runs. On your way, you'll discover tidbits of Pagan Min's story which will shed more light on the villain.

Honestly, this is one of the best ways Ubisoft could go about creating a story about some of its most iconic villains. Giving you enough of a reason to keep coming back while making more progress each time. This is just as fun as the Vaas DLC, and we can't wait to find out what they bring with the next one.
